Abstract

1291806 Hydraulic transmission FRIEDRICH KOCKS GmbH 5 May 1971 [9 May 1970] 13113/71 Heading F2C The drive for one or more warp winches 10 on a tanker vessel includes a pump (14), Fig. 1 (not shown), delivering at constant pressure to individual motors 16, each driving a winch 10 through a constant torque converter 17 to prevent overspeeding of the motor 16. A reversing drive 18 is included in the drive, and the pump (14) and motor 16 are of the axial piston type adjusted respectively automatically to maintain the pump delivery pressure constant, and manually. Again, Fig. 3 (not shown), the motor 16 drives the winch 10 directly through gears (27), (29) and a one-way clutch (31) for one direction of rotation, and through the converter and an oppositely directed one-way clutch (32) for the opposite direction. The converter still provides a braking torque to prevent overspeeding of the motor, even in the one direction of rotation. The motor 16 may be of constant displacement, and a discharge rate valve disposed upstream thereof.
