Abstract
1291072 Locks NETHERLANDS POSTAL & TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF 3 Dec 1969 [16 Dec 1968] 59089/69 Heading E2A A lock for a door comprises a bolt s displaceable between projecting and retracted positions, key releasable lock mechanism parts A and B and a catch pin p displaceable from a first position in which it is ineffective to cause retraction of the bolt by the lock mechanism to a second position in which it is effective to cause retraction of the bolt when the lock mechanism is released by an appropriate key and a third position where the bolt is free to move between the projecting and retracted positions independently of the lock mechanism when the door is pressed the pin p is depressed by contact with a casing g on the door frame. An arm c on the pin moves therewith to pivot a pawl d attached at one end by a spring V 2 to one end of the lock mechanism part B, to displace the part B towards the bolt when it has been released for movement by a magnetic key M, a finger b on the part B makes contact with switch contact sc and a circuit of an electromagnet is completed to withdraw the bolt s from an aperture in the casing g. A latch member f on the pawl a engages a hook on an arm e on the part B to retain the bolt retracted as the door is opened by the pin p urged outwardly by a spring V 1 . The outward movement of the pin brings a pin g thereon into contact with the latch member f which pivots to disengage the hook on the part B, the bolt is then free to project under the action of a spring and the part B returns to its original position with respect to the part A under the action of springs V 2 and V 3 . The parts A and B are retained by pin tumblers releasable by the magnetic key M. In a modification, the parts A and B are released by a non magnetic key, and the bolt s is withdrawn by an arm h one end of which engages in a recess in the bolt and the other end engages an ear o on the part B. As the part B moves the ear o causes the arm h to pivot and withdraw the bolt.
