Abstract
1,178,110. Remotely controlled fastenings. HEIWA DENKI K.K. 20 Dec., 1966 [22 Dec., 1965; 6 June, 1966], No. 57062/66. Heading E2A. An electrical lock device comprises an electro-magnet 19, an armature portion 16 of which is movable between first and second positions, a_spring 17 urging the armature portion from the first towards the second position, movement of the armature portion from the second to the first position being effected by energisation of the electromagnet 19 to retain the armature portion 16 in the first position when the energising current is reduced to zero, the device being in a locking condition when the armature portion is in one of its positions and being in a non-locking condition when the armature portion is in the other of its positions. As shown, a bolt projecting from an edge of a door, is engageable with a cam 2 mounted on a pivot pin 6, the cam being retained in the position shown by a lever 8, which acts upon a slide 7 and by an L-shaped lever 13, one end 15 of which bears on the lever 8 against a spring 17 and the other end 16 of which constitutes the armature portion of the electro-magnet 19. When the electromagnet is energised through contacts 26, 26', the lever 8 is freed and the door may be opened. If the electromagnet is then disconnected from the power source, the armature is not released due to residual magnetion of the cores 20 and the door can only be relocked by opening movement of the door, followed by a closing movement thereof which moves the lever 13 through a lever 18 away from the cores 20 or by energising the electromagnet through contacts 27, 27' after the lever 18 is raised from the position shown, which effects de-energisation of the cores 20 and movement of the lever 18 directly by the spring 17. In another arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), the L-shaped lever normally blocks releasing movement of a spring-released sliding bolt and the electro-magnet is energised to release the bolt through a normally closed switch at the door edge which opens to disconnect the electromagnet when the door is open, energisation of the electro-magnet being effected by unidirectional current and denergisation by alternating current.
