Abstract

Shock of landing, deadening; wheels.-A shockabsorbing landing frame comprises duplicate rocking-arms B pivoted at A on an axle or spindle, carrying running-wheels D and auxiliary wheels E<1>, and controlled by springs C attached to the fuselage by a wire tie H provided with a spreader I of streamline section. The downward movement of the wheel D is limited bv a flexible cable G. The frame F and connexions may be provided in a reverse direction to bring the wheels D into a leading position. The Provisional Specification describes also the provision of tyres as described in Specification 116,390, [Class 144 (ii), Wheel tyres, Pneumatic &c.], and the use of runners instead of the wheels E'.
