Abstract

1287627 Load lifting attachments LANCER BOSS Ltd 24 Aug 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 43432/69 Heading B8H A load lifting attachment, shown in plan view, for use with a fork-lift truck for lifting containers from above comprises a frame element 1 having a transverse double cantilever arm 4 at each end 2, 3 each with load engaging devices at either end. The arms 4 may be telescopically adjusted for loads of different widths. A pair of fork receiving elements 5 is mounted on the element 1 and these may be adjusted on rollers 20 along the element 1 by a ram (28, 29), Fig. 2 (not shown), connected between brackets 31, 32 to balance the load. Forks (not shown) pass through the elements 5 and support the attachment on rollers 23. Each element has a ram cylinder 26 attached to it at 24 by a pivot 25, an eye 27 of the piston rod being attached to the fork by a pin (not shown). The rams 26 may be actuated singly or jointly to move the attachment along the forks or to slue it, within the limits allowed by the fit of the forks in the elements 5, to align the attachment with the load.
