Abstract

1286254 Valves C A PARSONS & CO Ltd 10 Sept 1969 [11 Sept 1968] 43228/68 Heading F2V A valve for the control of fluid flow comprises a valve seating ring with radial members 5a 5b, 5c, 5d converging towards the axis of the fluid passage 2, and a corresponding number of sectorshaped valve closure members 3 (3a being shown closed in Fig. 1) adapted to sealingly engage the radial members and being pivotable about a side adjacent the passage wall so that in the open position the closure members lie along the passage wall. Each closure member 3 is urged to the closed position by a spring and fluid pressure. The members 3 are actuated by mechanical, electrical or hydraulic means and the movements of the members 3 may be independent. The closure members 3 are attached to arms 7 via universal joints 12, and they rotate about the shafts 4.
