Abstract

1280428 Knitting-machines H STOLL G STOLL E STOLL E STOLL J STOLL A STOLL R E STOLL and M STOLL 11 Dec 1970 [15 Dec 1969] 58851/70 Heading D1C A flat-bed machine has flexible needle jacks 12, with a butt 123 at the region of maximum bowing, that can be depressed out of range of the lock by a presser member. In the embodiment of Figure 1 the presser 14 is rocked about its pivot 142 by presser elements 16 of the lock, thereby depressing the butt. The presser can be moved longitudinally to vary its pivot point, and therewith which element is effective, by a jacquard. A second similar presser 18, acting of the first presser, increases the operating possibilities. In a modification, Figure 2 not shown, the pressers depress one end (233) of an intermediate member (23) which is then slid longitudinally under a camming bar (24). In the embodiment of Figure 4 the presser 25 is slid under a camming bar 24 when the selector jack 26, on which it is pivoted, is moved longitudinally.
