1277041 Cathode-ray tubes OWENSILLINOIS Inc 11 Aug 1969 [23 April 1969] 40058/69 Heading H1D The face-plate flange 24 of a cathode-ray tube is reinforced by a band 29 located between mould-match line 26 and splice line 16, the thickness to length ratio of the flange in the vicinity of the mould-match line 26 lying between 1 : 3À5 and 1 : 4À5. The length is defined as the distance between the splice line 16 and the point where the bisector of the corner between the face-plate and the flange intersects the external surface of the tube. The thickness to length ratio of the flange at a point immediately adjacent this corner lies between 1 : 3À5 and 1 : 4. The reinforcing band 29 may be surrounded by a tension band 30.
