Abstract
1276134 Purifying Ni solutions LE NICKEL 28 May 1969 [21 June 1968] 26880/69 Heading C1A [Also in Division C7] An aqueous solution containing Ni ions, complex metal-chloride anions, ions of metals (preferably Na or K) derived from completely dissociated salts of HCl, and free Cl ions in a concentration of 2-6 N, is passed through an anion exchange resin at a solution temperature of at least 60‹ C. to absorb the complex anions. The metal in the complex anion may be Co, Fe, Cu, Al, Zn, Mo, or Mn. It may be eluted with water, HCl, or alkali metal chloride solution. The initial solution may result from the electrolytic purification of ferro-nickel or nickel matte, or from the dissolution of Ni bearing materials in HCl.
