Abstract

1,270,809. Fibrous laminate. ASSOCIATED PAPER MILLS Ltd. 22 July, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 35075/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions A3 and D1] A laminate for use as an insock consists of a web or mat of natural or synthetic fibres, e.g. wood fibres, held together by a binder, e.g. an acrylic or acrylonitrile butadiene latex, and loaded with active carbon and a backing layer, e.g. of cotton muslin scrim, flannelette or swansdown, or of nylon or paper. The web may include 20 to 65% by weight of the active carbon and 10 to 30% by weight of the binder. A layer of polyurethane foam may also be attached to the insock. The web may be air-laid on to the backing layer.
