A sectionalized platform to support loads for the loading or unloading of vehicles the platforms of which can pass under it comprises a structure A having side uprights B to which beams E are pivoted for movement between an inoperative position and a horizontal operative position in which they extend towards each other, to form the platform. The beams are counterbalanced by weights F which contact girders H to hold the beams in the aperture position. Bolts, catches or plungers mounted on the support structure hold the beams E in their inoperative position. The structure may be mounted on wheels.
