Abstract
1,265,099. Electromagnetic switches; electric selectors. SIEMENS A.G. 14 Oct., 1970 [31 Oct., 1969], No. 48717/70. Headings H1L and H1N. Electromagnetic relay sets for use in telephone systems have a plurality of switching devices encapsulated in a protective casing 55 or 104, and each device has a first and second polepiece and an armature 73 or 99 with its movable end between the polepieces and a distance piece to which the armature and polepieces, or carriers thereof, are coupled to set the working gap 103 between the polepieces. The switching devices each have a thrust plate 59, 60 of spring material, at least two armature spring plates 68, 69, 70, 71 equipped with armatures 73 and first polepieces 72 and two contact plates 75, 76 or 102 each with a second polepiece 78. The distance pieces or rods 62 are disposed transversely of the central axis of the grouped system and a base 56 having connecting elements 75 to which the switching devices are attached. The systems of devices are arranged within a casing formed by two bases and a sleeve 55 and are forced into engagement with the sleeve wall through the opposing thrust plates 59, 60 which seat directly against each other (Fig. 12, not shown) or through intervening components such as a polarizing magnet 64. Each pair of superposed devices have a common external energizing circuit comprising a soft iron bridge 80 and coil 81. The divided ends 98 of the spring plates form the movable contacts.
