Abstract

1,264,962. Web-forming machines. FIBREGLASS Ltd. 13 June, 1969 [25 June, 1968], No. 30254/68. Heading DIN. Glass fibres are distributed onto a collecting surface by releasing fluid at high velocity near the nipples of bushings 18 producing the fibres to produce a downflowing fibre stream from the bushing, and passing the fibres between opposing secondary fluid flows of varying intensity so that the fibre stream is deflected from side to side. The variation in intensity of the secondary fluid flows can be produced by oscillating the fluid jets 21-28 or by alternately passing the fluid first to one set of jets and then the other.
