Abstract
PURPOSE:A bundle of short fibers obtained by strethc-breaking a continuous yarn at a position between the feed rollers and the stretch-breaking rollers is passed through a fluid nozzle provided at a position of a specific distance from the stretch-breaking rollers to produce untwistedly bundled spun yarn of high yarn strength. CONSTITUTION:A continuous yarn 4 is stretch-broken between the feed rollers 5, 5' and the stretch-breaking rollers 7, 7' which revolves at a higher speed than the feed rolers to form a bundle of short fibers. Then, the resultant fiber bundle is passed through the fluid nozzle 8 that is provided after the stretch-breaking rollers 7, 7' to cause interlaces on the surface of the short fiber bundle, thus producing untwistedly bundled spun yarn of high strength. At this time, more than 80% of the whole fiber is stretch-broken so as to have a length longer than the distance L between the stretch-breaking rollers 7, 7' and the fluid nozzle 8.
