Syringes and like appliances.-In the type of hypodermic apparatus in which one end of a doubleended needle is first thrust into the skin and the other end then introduced into a phial containing liquid under pressure, the closing device of the phial is a membrane of plastic material capable of adhering to the glass of the phial, and the end of the needle thrust through it is entirely enclosed in a socket D adapted to fit the neck of the phial as shown.
