Abstract

1,260,094. Stud-and-socket fasteners. A. RAYMOND. 3 March, 1970 [3 March, 1969], No. 10161/70. Heading E2B. A stud-and-socket fastening, for securing apertured plates 313, 35 together, comprises a stud 10 having rearwardly extending tongues 17, 18 which are secured into the socket portion 11 by rotation under a base plate B, this plate having limbs 25, 26 also with rearwardly projecting lugs 29, 30 which locate the socket in the aperture in the top plate 33, the limbs 25, 26 being expandable on rotation of the stud outwardly, to fritionally grip the aperture in the lower plate 35. The stud is preferably of plastics and the socket of metal. The neck of the stud is round and the ends of the arms 17, 18 abut the plate 21 of the socket which lies on the top plate. Rotation of the stud is limited by pressed up abutments 31, 32 on the limbs 25, 26. Reverse rotation frees the lower plate 35.
