Abstract

1,009,985. Stud and socket fasteners. H. K. WARR-LANGTON. Dec. 22, 1961, No. 46122/61. Heading E2B. [Also in Division A4] A fastener for securing together two parts 3, 5 comprises an apertured disc 1 formed with ridges 19 in its cylindrical outer face whereby it is adapted to be rotatably retained in a circular aperture in one of the parts to be fastened, and a pin 4 having a head 8 for co-operation with an eccentric wall surface 11 of the aperture in the disc, whereby rotation of the disc draws the pin 4 into the aperture. A slot 13 is provided in the disc 1 for insertion of a screwdriver to rotate the disc. The end 15 of the pin 4 is either screwed directly into the part 5, or fixed in a socket 16 having ribs 17, which is screwed into the part 5 and may further secured there, adhesively. The head 8 of the pin may be provided with a screwdriver slot. The fastener may be formed of plastic or metallic material, and may be used for connecting furniture joints.
