Abstract

1,258,305. Pipe couplings. NYLEX CORP. Ltd. 21 March, 1969, No. 14992/69. Heading F2G. A pipe coupling comprises aligned annular recesses 32 in the end faces of pipe flanges 23, a rubber or neoprene sealing ring 33 of generally U-shaped section accommodated in each recess with the mouths of the Us opening radially inwardly, and a two-part bolted collar 24 retaining the flanges with adjacent legs of the rings in engagement and with the rings being in open communication with the interior of the pipes. The abutting legs of the sealing rings are shorter than the legs engaging the bases of the recesses. The pipes may be of synthetics plastics.
