Abstract

1,254,593. Heating and ventilating vehicles. TATRA NARODNI PODNIK. 11 Feb., 1969, No. 7294/69. Heading F4V. A motor vehicle heating and ventilating system comprises heat sources 7, 8 respectively independent of and dependent on the vehicle engine, a common air distribution system having ducts 1, 2, 5 and 6 surrounding the passenger space 3, and at least one valve associated with one or both heat sources, whereby the direction of air flow through the distribution system may be reversed. A fan 11 directs air from the distribution system and/or heat source 7 on to the windscreen and side windows. Vehicle air outlets are provided above the windscreen, below the rear seat and in the door pillars, the seat and pillar outlets being connected to outlets 20 at the rear of the vehicle. The ducts 1, 2 include air outlets 4 which direct air upwardly or sidewardly into the passenger space.
