Abstract

1,247,937. Joining bars to posts. SWISS ALUMINIUM Ltd. Nov. 13, 1969 [Nov. 15, 1968], No. 55647/69. Addition to 1,167, 238. Heading A4H. In the post of the Parent, each threaded end 3 of the slotted section 1, which is of aluminium alloy, is engaged by an internally threaded steel bush 11 inserted in or secured to an end of the spacer section 2, which is also of aluminium alloy. Bush 11 may have an internal annular projection 12, Fig.3, at its inner end with an annular groove 13 having a sloping wall 15 which receives the end of section 1 which has a complementary chamber 14. The outer end of bush 11 may be flush with that of section 2, Fig.3, or it may have an annular wedge-shaped projection 16, Fig.4, that enters an annular groove 17 in section 1 and enters and indents a V-notch 18 in the bar 6, which is of aluminium alloy.
