Abstract

1,240,973. Reciprocating pumps. I. CHIVARI. March 2, 1970 [March 13, 1969], No. 9902/70. Heading F1A. A pump comprises a cylinder block 9 rotatable in a housing 1 through bevel gears 9 c , 33, the block having a plurality of axial cylinders 13 each receiving a reciprocating piston 12 and each having a port 13a which communicates in turn with inlet and outlet passages in a fixed guide ring 4. The passages in the guide ring are separated by bridges 4a, Fig. 2, and are in the form of inner grooves 5 a , 6a and outer grooves 5, 6 in communication through an apertured separating wall 4c. The passages 5, 5a and 6, 6a are respectively in communication with an inlet 7 and an outlet 8 in the housing 1. To balance the transverse thrust on the block 9 due to the differing pressures in the grooves 5a, 6a, balancing recesses (21, 24) are provided in the guide 4, Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown). The bevel gear 33 is fixed to a driven shaft 30 provided with a flange 30a in which pins 29 are rotatably mounted. Each pin 29 is connected to a respective connecting rod 27 by a cross-pin.
