Abstract
823,112. Reciprocating pumps. COLLION, R. J., and FAVRIN, P. A. May 2, 1956 [May 27, 1955], No. 13610/56. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A rotary cylinder pump comprises a rotor 2 provided with eight pump cylinders 15 and revolving round a stator 1. Low pressure liquid is supplied through a duct 4 in the stator to the right hand end of a motor cylinder 11, and high pressure liquid is discharged from the cylinder 15 through a duct 6 in the stator. Liquid discharged from the left hand end of cylinder 11 passes through a duct 30 and a groove 29 in the stator to a duct 30<SP>1</SP> and the left hand end of a motor cylinder 11<SP>1</SP> to return the piston therein, the right hand end of the cylinder 11<SP>1</SP> and its associated pump cylinder 15<SP>1</SP> being connected through a duct 5 to a reservoir. When the pistons have completed their stroke a duct 33 and a recess 31 put the left hand end of cylinder 11 into communication with the inlet duct 4, and a duct 33<SP>1</SP> and a recess 32 put the left hand end of cylinder 11<SP>1</SP> into communication with the reservoir so that make-up liquid at the correct pressure is supplied. Cylinder 11<SP>1</SP> is displaced 90 degrees from cylinder 11, and cylinders diametrically opposite to cylinders 11, 11<SP>1</SP> are similarly connected to low pressure and to reservoir.
