Abstract
1,236,382. Delivering sheets. SHEARD PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT Ltd. 20 June, 1968 [29 April, 1967], No. 19857/67. Heading B8R. Sheets delivered to a stacking apparatus are gripped at each side between endless belts 38, 64, Figs. 2 and 4, the belt 38 running on pulleys 30, 32 on shafts supported on a carrier bar 22 and being supported by bobbins 40 supported on the bar, and the belt 64 running on pulleys 52, 54 on axles 50 attached to a shaft 46 supported on the bar. The shaft 46 is urged by an hydraulic or pneumatic ram 62, Fig. 3, to a position wherein the belt 64 clamps the sheet against the belt 38. When the sheet reaches stacking position, its leading edge is sensed by a photo-electric detector which actuates the ram to release the sheet, which falls on to a stacking board. Manual rotation of threaded rods 18 moves the bars 22 towards or away from each other to adjust for sheet width. The sheet may be held at one side only and the belt 64 may be replaced by a fixed bar or plate.
