Abstract

1,220,852. 2 - Amino - 4,5 - (3,3 - dimethyl- 1 - oxotetramethylene)- thiazole. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 12 Feb., 1968 [16 Feb., 1967], No. 6805/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C4] In Example 1, 2-amino-4,5 - (3,3 - dimethyl- 1-oxotetramethylene)- thiazole is prepared by reacting bromodimedone and thiourea under reflux in alcohol, evaporating the alcohol and precipitating the product from aq. caustic soda. After recrystallization from 50% alcoholwater the product has a m.p. of 206-207À5‹ C.
