Abstract

1,219,155. Boots &c. VINATEX Ltd. 25 July, 1969 [9 July, 1968], No. 32673/68. Heading A3B. A sole or heel consists of a body of plasticized PVC and a coating, to protect the PVC from the effects of exposure to solvents, of a polymeric material having flex characteristics at least as good as those of the plasticized PVC. The polymeric material may be nitrile rubber, chloroprene, chlorosulphonated polyethylene or polyurethane and may be applied to the sole or heel as an emulsion or a solution by brushing, spraying or dipping. The coating may be applied only to the non-wearing surfaces of the sole or heel. In the case of one piece PVC boots, e.g. industrial boots, the sole, upper and leg areas may all be coated.
