Abstract

1,217,473. Applying soil improvers. MECHANOX N.V. 10 Jan., 1969 [12 Jan., 1968], No. 1624/69. Heading A1D. Soil improver is applied into soil through a conduit 20 which terminates in a space created by a device 1 having a triangular plate portion and downwardly angled portions 4 which force a layer of soil up and over the plate. As shown, each of four plates is attached by a rigid arm 7 to a frame 13 which is adjustable in height by means of arm 34 and shackle 35 and is supported by a vehicle 14 and a roller 15. The roller is adjustably connected to the frame 13 through a device 36. A reservoir 40 is kept under a steady pressure by means of gas from a vessel 41, the reservoir supplies soil improver through the conduit 20 to nozzles (21), Fig. 3 (not shown), disposed under the plate, the conduit including adjustable valves (not shown) controlled by adjusting means 42. A wheel 24 precedes the plate to cut a groove in the soil and crumbling cylinders 26 connected to the frame 13 by a chain 27 follow the plate to equalise the soil.
