Abstract

1,216,616. Powder distributors. J. R. GEIGY S.A. 3 April, 1969 [5 April, 1968], No. 17731/ 69. Heading B2F. A powder dispenser comprises two reservoirs one 1 for propellant C and the other 3 for the powder B to be dispensed, the propellant reservoir comprising a valve 18 which allows access of propellant to an entry tube 5 directed towards the powder reservoir, a turbulence chamber A in communication with the powder reservoir by way of a wide opening surrounded by an annular constriction 7, the end 27 of the entry tube extending into the turbulence chamber which chamber has an exit orifice 14 and is fed with powder by gravity when the powder reservoir is upside-down, the propellant reservoir being so mounted on the turbulence chamber that its axis is oriented obliquely with respect to the axis of the powder reservoir. Propellant discharge by valve 18 to entry tube 5 may be controlled by trigger 4 operating against return spring 25 and mounted on handle 2 which may house the propellant reservoir 3. The trigger may also control shutter 26 for the outlet 14. A slit may be provided on either side of the exit orifice for 'release of excess pressure should the exit orifice become blocked.
