Abstract

1,215,330. Ladle nozzles. STOECKER & KUNZ G.m.b.H. 29 Dec., 1967 [20 Jan., 1967], No. 59131/67. Heading F4B. A teeming nozzle for a ladle, for use in particular in continuous casting and which comprises an elongated nozzle body 1 traversed by a vertical passage 2 for the teeming metal, and an extended spout portion of sufficient length for the outlet orifice 5 of the passage 2 to be located inside an associated casting mould, includes a tubular liner 4 at the entry end 3 of the nozzle body 1, wherein said liner is made of a highly refractory material which is harder and more wear resistant than the material of which the body of the nozzle is made. In other embodiments, the nozzle can include lateral outlet orifices (5A, Fig. 2), or have a tubular liner (4A, Fig. 3) which extends down through the entire length of the passage 2.
