Abstract

1,214,308. Sample injection device for gas chromatography. W. D. EVANS. 25 Nov., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 55808/67. Heading B1L. A liquid sample for separation by gas chromatography is introduced into open capillary tube 10 (see Fig. 2, not shown) located within ferromagnetic holder 11, and brought into contact with magnetic rod 12. The assembly is then located in a seating in slide valve 1. To submit the sample to separation, slide valve 1 is pushed to the left to bring the sample an the open capillary 10 directly into the stream of carrier gas entering through conduit 6, so that the sample is carried to the column through conduit 7.
