Abstract

1,210,974. Plate heat exchangers. DE DANSKE MEJERIERS MASKINFABRIK A.m.b.A. 12 March, 1968 [17 March, 1967], No. 12054/68. Heading F4S. An intermediate plate or frame 10 for use in the middle of a stack of heat exchange plates is provided with corner blocks 14 each having a recess 18 adapted to receive an integral extension 20 of the plate side 22. Each corner block 14 is attached to the end 26 of the plate by a screw and washer arrangement 28, 30 and has sockets 16 which serve to feed fluid into, or extract fluid from, the middle of the plate stack. A fixing screw 24 attaches the block to the extension 20. The corner blocks are also provided with carrying or guiding means in the form of a pin 32 and a roller 34 intended to abut against a plate stack carrying or guiding bar (not shown). Alternatively (Fig. 2, not shown) each corner block has a recess (36) securely mounting a distance piece (40) carrying a slide shoe (42) which abuts against the carrying bar (44). In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the carrying or guiding means is arranged to be independent of the corner blocks. The corner blocks may alternatively be of polygonal cross-section.
