Abstract

1,210,204. Vehicle driving arrangement. CARL HURTH MASCHINEN-UND ZAHNRADFABRIK. 20 March, 1969 [5 April, 1968], No. 14605/69. Heading B7H. A motorized vehicle has a transmission arrangement comprising a motor 10, preferably electric, mounted in a frame or bogie, the main shaft of which is substantially parallel to the direction of travel and is in driving connection with a hollow transverse shaft (14), Fig. 1 (not shown), carried in the frame, which hollow shaft encloses a drive axle 15 which axle is radially movable relative to said hollow shaft and is coupled to the hollow shaft by a coupling which permits relative radial movement and comprises a pair of links 22 and 23 pivoted to the drive axle and a pair of links 20 and 21 pivoted to the hollow shaft, each of the links being pivoted at its free end to an unsprung floating intermediate member 19. The hollow shaft has a flange 17 comprising two radial arms and the drive axle has a similar flange 18, the links are pivoted to these flanges. Member 19 has two yokes each yoke having two arms, for example 26 and 27. The yoke arms have parts 28, 29 to which are secured pivot pins 30, 31 of the joints of the links. The pins merge into spherical joint elements, e.g. ball joints 32, 33, on to each of which is vulcanized a resilient element 34, 35 e.g. rubber. The resilient elements are fitted with a degree of axial preload which also results in a radial preload.
