In apparatus for feeding and delivering printed items, such as leaflets or the like 29 to a series of articles (not shown) moving in a continuous stream on a conveyer device 4 comprising a leaflet feeder 2 which supplies the leaflets which may be folded and delivers them to leaflet receivers 41 which are associated with article holders 37, 38 of the conveyer device 4, as well as with at least one guide rail 55 guiding the free leaflet ends into a desired position, the leaflet receivers 41 are disposed on an endless leaflet conveyer means 3 which extends adjacent to the article conveyer device 4 and which travels in unison therewith, and are constructed as cam controlled grippers 42, 44. The feeder 2 comprises upper and lower pairs of endless belts 20, 23 between which each leaflet 29 is gripped. A rotary transfer device 1 carries four pairs of gripper jaws, each of which comprises an upper movable jaw 15 which is spring urged into a downward gripping position. It is raised into an open position by the action of a fixed cam 8, concentric with the centre 6 of movement of the transfer device 1. In operation, an overhanging portion of each leaflet on the conveyer 2 is engaged under a raised jaw 15 which is then lowered to grip the leaflet and carry it round and under the guide 55 and into engagement with the grippers 42, 44, on the conveyer 3. A member 46 of the gripper 44 is engaged by, and driven into gripping position by, one of four cam portions 48 carried by the transfer device 1. A second fixed cam 9 concentric with the centre 6 operates a follower 52 of a guide member 50 carried by the rotating device 1. This engages behind, and supports, the portion of the leaflet guided by the rail 55.
