1,206,789. Bed-settees. L. VIEHAUS. 8 Dec., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966; 24 April, 1967], No. 56031/67. Heading A4J. In a bed-settee, a back-rest 16 is carried on arms 20, pivoted to a drawer 14, so that, on pulling out seat extension 11, the drawer is extended and the back-rest 16 is guided into a horizontal position. The back-rest may be guided by arms 27, pivoted at 26 to the stationary base 2, or, alternatively, by projections 17, riding in channel guides 19. Tension springs 24 assist the return of the back-rest to the upright position. Mattress sections 4 and 5 are seamed together, so that the section 5 may be swung, from its overlying position, on to the bed base.
