Abstract

1,205,814. Dry shavers. GILLETTE CO. 29 Sept., 1967 [6 June, 1967], No. 44543/67. Addition to 1,129,656. Heading B4B. A dry-shaver head has a reciprocating cutter guided by parallel legs 51a, 51b, Fig. 1, or 61a, 61b, Fig. 2, of spring material in which an inner leg is either longer or shorter than an outer leg. The member may have an inner leg arranged at an acute angle to the outer legs, and may be made from one piece of spring wire. The parallel guide for the cutting member of the shaver comprises at least two such guide members, each fixed between the cutting member and a stationary member with the outer legs, for example fixed to the cutter and the centre leg to the razor body. The lengths and stiffness of the legs are such that no reciprocation of the cutter occurs at right angles to the cutting reciprocation.
