987,665. Dry shavers. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. Jan. 6, 1964 [Jan. 14, 1963], No. 595/64. Heading B4B. In a cutter head unit for a dry shaver comprising a cutter movable with respect to a stationary cutter, the movable cutter is provided with guide means having flexible portions bearing against the stationary cutter to prevent undesirable movement of the movable cutter when it is moved relative to the stationary cutter. As shown, an inner cutter 22 is reciprocable within an outer cutter 18 and the cutter 22 carries a nylon guide 40 provided with legs 41, 42 the feet 43 of which engage the inner side walls of the cutter 18 to prevent lateral movement of the cutter 22 when it is reciprocated. The guide has shoulders 45, 46 engaging the inner side walls of the cutter 22 to prevent accidental dislodgment of the guide from the cutter. Clamp fingers 15 on the shaver casing are engageable with lips 16 on the cutter head. The guide means may be used with a cutter head in which (a) the inner cutter rotates within the outer cutter or (b) the outer cutter is moved relative to a stationary inner cutter.
