Abstract

876,080. Hair clippers. POPP, A., [trading as POPP, METALLWARENFABRIK, A.], and EISEMANN G.m.b.H. May 20, 1960 [May 29, 1959], No. 17807/60. Addition to 854,667. Class 131. In a cutter head for an electric hair clipper having spaced upper and lower cutters as disclosed in the parent Specification, resilient plastic members 6 are interposed between the lower cutter 1 and supports 4, 5 for the guide rod 3 on which the reciprocated upper cutter 10 is guided, the distance between the cutters being adjusted by screws 7 which engage the lower cutter to clamp the supports thereto. The rod 3 is located in the supports 4, 5 and passes through bores 17 in moulded plastic studs 15, 16 which have portions 19, held by elastic deformation in conical holes in the upper cutter and shoulders 20 engaging the upper surface thereof to produce with individual adjustment of the screws 7 a high degree of parallelism between the cutters which is maintained to the limits of the movement of the upper cutter. A moulded plastic cover 21 has projections 22 engaging holes 23, 24 in the supports 4, 5, the holes being conical to ensure a good seating. The point to point distance of the teeth 9 of the upper cutter is twice that of the teeth 8 of the lower cutter.
