Abstract

1,205,739. Breakdown cranes. B. E. DINES. 30 April, 1969, No. 22100/69. Heading B8H. A breakdown crane adapted to be mounted in the interior of, or towed behind, a towing vehicle comprises a telescopic boom 4, 5 pivoted at 19 to uprights 3 on a base frame 1 which telescopically receives a draw-bar 12 secured by a pin 13 to the vehicle. The boom is raised and lowered by means of a screw or hydraulic jack 20 detachably secured to a plate 9 which may be adjustably mounted on the base frame 1. The boom may be supported in selected positions by a pawl 7 engaging notches 8 in uprights 2 secured to the base frame or by a pin passing through selected apertures in the uprights 2, Fig. 3 (not shown). Removable wheels 15 are provided on the base frame 1.
