Abstract

1,089,762. Mobile jib cranes. COLCHESTER TILLAGE Ltd. May 22, 1964 [April 24, 1963], No. 16134/63. Heading B8B. [Also in Division B7] An hydraulically controlled slewing and luffing crane comprises a pedestal 45 detachably secured to brackets on the chassis of a tractor and supporting a three-section telescopic jib 46. A winch 52 is actuated by an hydraulic motor 51 mounted on the jib and the jib is luffed and slewed by an hydraulic ram mounted within the pedestal 45 and an hydraulic mechanism 48, respectively. A valve housing 24 and hand levers 43, 44 control the slewing, luffing and winching operations, each hand lever being movable between six corresponding positions. The front axle of the tractor is provided with an adjustable stop assembly operable to prevent lateral tilting of the chassis relative to the front axle (see Division B7).
