Abstract

1,204,914. Portable railway track. SWEDISH RAIL SYSTEM A.B. 5 Oct., 1967, No. 45474/67. Heading E1G. A prefabricated rail-plus-sleepers element for a portable railway track (e.g. for travelling cranes) comprises a single short straight or curved rail 1 having sleeper blocks 2 attached thereto (e.g. by wedges 3 driven through cramps cast in the sleeper blocks). On site the elements are connected in pairs by one or more tie rods 4, adjacent pairs being connected end to end (e.g. by embracing projections 6). Each tie rod may be clamped to a rail or a concrete, wooden or iron sleeper block and may comprise two telescopic, screwthreaded or flange-bolted parts whereby its length can be changed.
