Abstract

1,194,123. Tensioning wefts; stop motions, shuttleless looms. ELITEX-ZAVODY TEX TILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI, GENERALNI REDITELSTVI. 18 March, 1968 [17 March, 1967], No. 12953/68. Heading D1E. A gripper shuttle loom has two levers 7, 12 acting on the weft, .the lever 7 to pull back the weft after picking and the lever 12 to tension the weft and act as a stop motion feeler. The lever 7 is fixed to a shaft 3 and the lever 1.2 is movable on the shaft 3 against the action of a spring 8 and friction plates 10, 11. After picking the shaft 3 is turned by a cam 5 so that both levers 7, 12 draw the weft into a double loop and a clamp 15 is closed to prevent withdrawal of weft from a spool 18. Continued movement of the shaft 3 causes the lever 7 to pull back more weft and the tension in the weft causes the lever 12 to return to its original position against the force of the friction plates 10, 11. Further movement of the lever 7 may then pull weft through the clamp 15. In the absence of weft tension the lever 12 continues to move with the lever 7 and a projection 16 on the lever 12 operates a stop motion switch 2 which is adjustable in position around the shaft 3.
