Abstract
1,191,330. Grinding. GROSSDREHMASCHINENBAU VEB. 5 Dec., 1967, No. 55237/67. Heading B3D. A gear grinding machine comprises a grinding wheel 1 and a dressing device 3, the dressing device having a straight edge 5 formed with an edge which extends at right angles to the bisector of the angle which is enclosed between a direction BA in which the dressing device is slidably movable and a direction CA in which the grinding wheel bearing 7 is slidably movable, and a stop 6 being provided on or connected to the grinding wheel bearing and constrained by a force to bear against the straight edge. The stop is in the form of a rotatable eccentric 6 mounted on the bearing 7 which is urged hydraulically or mechanically in the direction CA so that the stop engages the straight edge 5 carried by the dressing device which is adjustable in the direction BA to engage the dressing tool 4 with the grinding wheel. Because of the geometrical arrangement, movements of the tool 4 result in equal movements of bearing so that the operation point A of the wheel remains in the same place. The eccentric stop 6 is rotatable to effect crowning of the teeth.
