Abstract

1,190,936. Two-part couplings. PRESSAC Ltd. 29 Sept., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 51978/66. Heading H2E. A socket for a jack plug of the kind used in transistorized radio sets comprises a body 1 having resilient claws 2 spaced from the outer surface of the body, and is firmly held in a hole in a panel on insertion of a flanged collar 4 in the space between the body 1 and claws 2, flanges 3 at the tips of the claws resting on the marginal edge of the hole and being concealed by the collar flange, and the body being provided with contacts (not shown) for engagement with the jack plug. The claws are bowed axially so that when the socket is inserted into the hole, the claws contract to allow elbows 2a to pass through the hole and then move out radially leaving the space between claws and body.
