Abstract
1,189,201. Tube mills. SIEBTECHNIK G.m.b.H. 27 April, 1967 [28 Jan., 1967], No. 19557/67. Heading B2A. [Also in Division F2] A vibratory mill comprises tubular milling casings 2 resiliently mounted in support members 3 and containing, respective inner tubes 1 which are rigidly connected to the support members, and means such as eccentrics 8 for vibrating the support members to effect milling. Milling elements such as tubes or rods (not shown) are contained in the spaces between the tubes 1 and the casings 2. The milling casings are carried in axially compressed resilient packing members 10 and are capable of longitudinal, but not radial expansion, under the effects of temperature. The tubes 1 are rigidly connected to the support members by sieves 5 and gratings 6. The support members 3 are mounted on compression springs (11, Fig. 2 not shown). The tubes 1 may be adapted to pass a coolant or a heating medium through the mill or they may serve as air ducts, e.g., for sifting purposes or for rapidly emptying the mill. If the mill is large the tubes 1 may serve as chambers for milling the material before or after the material passes into the spaces between the tubes 1 and the casings 2, e.g., through openings in connecting members 4. The casings 2 and, if required, the tubes 1 may be arranged in parallel or in series along a path for the material to be ground.
