Abstract

1,185,644. Fuel supply systems. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. March 21, 1967 [March 29, 1966; June 23, 1966], Nos.13811/66 and 28149/66. Heading F1B. Fuel supply to injectors by an electrically actuated pump 10 is cut off during over-running conditions by switches 14, responsive to engine speed and throttle position, breaking the pump circuit. The pump may be an electromagnet pump or a pump driven by an electric motor. Switches 14, 15 are normally closed, switch 14 being opened by centrifugal or other speed responsive means at a predetermined engine speed above idling speed and switch 15 being opened when the throttle valve is closed. In modifications the switches 14, 15, are in the circuit of a relay controlling a switch in the pump circuit.
