Abstract

1,180,848. Seats. F. KEIPER. 1 March, 1968 [20 Jan., 1968], No. 10152/68. Heading A4J. [Also in Division E2] In a hinge fitting, by means of which the backrest of a vehicle seat is adjusted in inclination, by a mechanism of the kind described in Specification 1,091,994, the fitting consists of two plates 28, 29, having off-set portions 36, 40, formed at their edges as intermeshing gears 38, 37 and a pivot 40, having an eccentric 45. It is immaterial which plate 28 or 29 is connected to the seat frame or to the backrest and which gear 38 or 37 is nearer an actuating handle 32 (Figs. 12-14, not shown). The plates are formed by a three stage stamping and pressing operation, performed on a steel blank.
