Abstract

1,174,767. Centrifugal pumps. DRYSDALE CO. Ltd. Jan.12, 1967 [Feb.24, 1966], No.8153/66. Heading F1C. In a centrifugal pump, air entrained with the pumped liquid and collecting in shaft seal chamber 4 is vented through a pipe 11 which may be connected to a vacuum pump. The chamber 4 contains several radial partitions 13 which prevent rotation of any leakage liquid therein and consequent blockage of the air vent.
