Abstract

1,170,447. Endless conveyers. SHAW, TREW & SMITH Ltd., and D. G. SHAW. 6 July, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 15494/66. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F2] In a conveyer in which flights 10 scrape material along a surface and are connected to a chain 6 which runs in a channel 5, the material is kept from falling into the channel 5 by overlapping plates 20 carried by the chain 6. The latter comprises spaced pairs of links 13 mounted for rotation about horizontal pivot pins 14, alternating with a single pair of links 11 mounted for rotation about vertical pivot pins 12. The pins 14 carry end shoes 24 for providing a guiding action relative to sides 26, 26 1 of the channel 5. Thus the conveyer can be of semi circular track in plan view (Fig. 1, not shown). Material is confined by sidewalls (3).
