Abstract

1,169,852. Seats. GENERAL STEEL PRODUCTS Inc. 22 Jan., 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 3254/68. Heading A4J. In an arrangement to prevent rearward rocking of a reclining and platform rocking chair, in the reclining chair positions, rearward movement of the seat frame 21 lowers rollers 34 into contact with crossframe member 12. On changing from the semi-reclined to the fully-reclined positions, further rearward and upward movement of the seat frame 21 causes the rollers 34 to move rearwardly over the plate 12a. Preferably, a single roller and linkage assembly is provided in the central plane of the chair. In a modification, the pivotal connection 32 between the links 26 and 29 coincides with the roller pivot 33.
