Abstract
1,168,419. Electrically operated fuzes. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 16 Aug., 1968 [17 Aug., 1967], No. 39388/68. Heading F3A. [Also in Division C1] A delay fuze includes a priming and/or delay composition consisting of pulverous silicon and pulverous titanium and/or zirconium, the silicon content being from 5-35% by weight (see Division C1). An electrically-operated fuze is described which includes a metal cap 8, a plug 9 made of polyvinyl chloride, a primer pellet 1, a primer composition 5, and a delay composition 6 all as specified above. The filament is preferably tungsten or molybdenum, but it is also possible to use copper. Nitropenta or a mixture of nitroglycerine and nitrocellulose is used as the explosive in the lower part 7 of the cap.
