Abstract

1,167,956. Endless conveyers. EMHART ZURICH S.A. 22 Aug., 1967 [25 Aug., 1966], No. 38585/67. Heading B8A. Circular articles conveyed by reaction between an endless member 16 and guides 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d are temporarily stopped and rotated about their axis at a position 10 by a pair of driven friction rollers 22, 24 spaced apart a distance slightly less than the diameter of the articles. A roller 32 mounted on a pivotable arm 30 is displaced by the article in passing and connects a switch 40 which in turn through an adjustable time delay switch 42 energizes an electromagnet 44 to pivot an arm 52 to which the wheel 24 is attached and thereby release the stopped article. The roller 32 after being displaced by the article is returned by a spring 36 to its initial position to abut the article in its position 10 and thereby prevent movement thereof in the upstream direction.
